Focus and Intention

When you are focused on a goal, everything you do is intended to reach you to that goal. My full time job is not directly in line with my goal, or my purpose I have decided in life, but while I am there, everything I do is in line with my journey. I am constantly preserving energy for after work. I am constantly imagining what I wish to accomplish. I am even thinking of ideas to write about on this blog. I do not get caught up in the day to day obstacles. My focus is on something greater. Yoga means union. Union with everything. Yoga is realizing that feeling that you are not separate from the world, and that everything corresponds together in the universe perfectly. What we breath out the trees breath in, what the trees breath out we breath in. I feel the feelings of the people around me so we are all each others’ responsibility. We are all just one energy; whether it be a plant, bug, man, or mouse. There is a say that everything is sadhana. That means everything you do is a spiritual practice. Spirituality is overcoming physical limitations. Overcoming fear or doubt. Overcoming outside opinions. The right practices can even overcome the need for food or sleep, but sadhana can reach you toward your goals as well. When everything you do is sadhana, you are intending to overcome. Overcoming the barriers that will try to prevent you from reaching your goal. Mental barriers, physical barriers, or even financial barriers. Intention is much stronger than the action itself. Have you ever met that person who says, “have a good day,” but you can tell by the tone of their voice how “good” of a day they actually want you to have. Their intention out shined their action, and the universe, that is directly a part of you, can hear you intentions as well. If you do not have conscious intentions in your actions, you will only be going in circles. Focusing on your goal will guide you to reach your destinations.

Stay Focused

Focus is, I would say, the most powerful tool a human can have. It is our job to make our attention as unwavering as possible. Where attention goes, energy flows. What we focus on is what we get. When you think of all the things you are grateful for, you will always get more things to be grateful for. Consciously placing your attention where you want is not always an easy thing. If you think about loving relationships you will get loving relationships, if you think about negative people you will get negative people. In this day and age we are bombarded with all sorts of distractions that are not meant to serve us. Television, music, and social media are mostly full of low vibrational things that are not meant to raise you up to your potential or give you a deep inner sense of satisfaction. These pleasures are only skin deep. If you go back to the saying: “We become what we think about.” Do you think media gives people good thoughts? I see loads of drugs, death, violence, and all sorts rubbish on 90% of television, while in most music it is the same thing. This is not meant to be an indictment of mainstream media; I am trying to elaborate on how big of a distraction mainstream media actually is. Place your attention on a brighter world and be careful what you surround yourself with. Keep on task. Do your own thing. Without focus, how will you ever get good at anything? How would you ever achieve anything? Never doubt yourself because fear is another distraction that people don’t see a such. If your attention is on possible failure, you are not focused. What may happen is none of our concern because nature will decide these things. Our job is just to strive for what we want, and keep our attention on that. Stay focused. “Nishchalatattve jeevanmukti.” (I don’t expect anyone reading this to know how to say this) This is an Indian saying that means “For one who is unwavering in his intentions, liberation cannot be denied.” Failure is impossible. All you have to do is focus.

Never Give Up

For one who is unwavering in his intention, liberation cannot be denied. With a certain amount of attention and focus, failure is impossible. Mind over matter; the human brain is literally warping reality, constantly. We live in a vibrational universe, everything has a vibration and frequency. The higher you make your frequency, the more influence you have on your reality. If you are at a high frequency you are but not limited to having a deep sense of relaxation, happiness, motivation, creativity, vitality, helpfulness, friendliness, love, and gratitude. Staying in these states is beneficial because once you get a momentum going it is extremely strong. Likewise, the opposite is also true. When you get in a momentum of negative emotion it can be hard to turn it around. This momentum could have been building in your life for months or even years but there is good news! It is scientifically proven that positive thoughts are significantly higher of a frequency than negative thoughts. In short, positive thoughts are stronger, so you don’t have to worry so much about being in a bad mood, you could easily reverse the direction of you life given time to shift the “momentum.” It is said that attitude is the most important word in the world in any language, because it is our attitude towards life and everything in it that will reflect life’s attitude toward us. Successful people do not have a good attitude because they are successful; They are successful because they have a good attitude. Never give up. If you are on the right track and stop, you could have been close to success and never even know it. There is a story about the man digging for gold and quit 5 feet before one of the worlds largest gold deposits. Life is just like that you never know when you are 5 feet from gold. Anything is possible for you when you decide to expand your awareness and take the steps necessary. For one who has hope, anything is possible. Hope will never abandon you, only you can abandon it. Always remember, to just try one more time.

Always Trust Yourself

Faith moves mountains. Trust in yourself. For trust is literally the basis for all that will ever become for you in your life. Trust is associated with muladhara, the root chakra. ROOT. Foundation. If we are not building on a strong foundation we are building on sand, it cannot stand. Trust in yourself because what you are actually doing is trusting the universe. Trusting the universe is having faith in god. God is in you. God is said to be the human imagination. Imagination is the creation process and god is the source of creation. The source of creation is in you! If you can see it, and believe it you can achieve it. All you have to do is trust in yourself and the universe because you are a creator and that is a major reason I made this website. We can all make this world better than we can dream of if we have a little faith in our abilities and learn to harness the power of our human imagination. Trusting in our power is to just let it flow. Think about this, if you do not trust your lover, how long will this affair last? If you do not trust your government, how well do you think they will serve you? Do you do things for people who do not trust you to do so? Now think about letting it flow. Can you force you lover to be loyal? They will retaliate! Just let them be there for you. They may leave but it is better than you driving them away. Delegation involves a high level of trust and is one of the most powerful tools in the universe. If a manager trusts his employees to do their job he can do better things with his time. If the owner trusts the manager he can too. If no one trusts each other no one will want to work in such a place. Trust yourself. Believe in yourself. When there is nothing to do that means that you don’t have to do anything. Just never give up. Do not decide that something can or cannot happen. Be patient, have faith, and go do something else. Let the universe make that happen for you. Have you ever realized most things we want come when we are not looking for them? Trusting the universe is trusting yourself because trust is the basis of everything. Give it time and trust it will happen and I feel you will be pleasantly surprised. There are those who think they can and those who think that they can’t, both are right. What is something you want to see in this world that can benefit everyone’s well being? Exercise your imagination and share it in the comments.

Keep Building

We tend to want things right now, when they are convenient for us. For example, people want to be rich without putting in any work. That sounds great but the problem is it is not sustainable. You might have seen this happen because some people are merely born into money or married into money but people who do not have knowledge of how to earn and raise wealth will never be able to keep it. This goes for a lot of things in life, the faster you get something the faster it will go away. Rome was not built in a day, and it did not fall in a day. If it was built in a day, it would have fell just as fast. If you want better physical health, you have to know how to be healthy. If you want to be joyful you have to know how to be joyful. This goes for everything. I knew a couple who came into money through a lawsuit. They received a million dollars, maybe more. They bought a half million dollar house in the country, bought a bar in town, and spent the rest on material things that did them no good. Today, they are broke. They no longer own the house or the bar. They simply didn’t know how to be wealthy, therefore they will never be able to keep their wealth. Keep building, and be patient. A sturdy foundation is the basis of any structure, if not it will all just crumble. Just focus on the day to day process and never give up because when you become that person on the inside, your life will become that way as well.

Purpose of Life

It seems to be natural for a human being to want to make things complicated. Making things complicated is sometimes mistaken for a sign of intelligence, but it is actually more intelligent to make things simple, isn’t it? Carl Jung once said that “the simple things in life are the hardest to do, that is why people don’t do them.” We want to be rich, famous, loved by all.. everything are ego wants. Ego wants to be the best, and greatest. Ego will always want more, and will also make you feel like you are separate from the rest of the world. In reality we are all connected and what affects one of us affects the rest of us. It is important to help the people and environment around you as a way to help yourself. Which brings me to the first fundamental principle of life: Help yourself so that you can help others. Since you are born with nothing and will die with nothing, there is only really one thing you can actually do while you are here; Give yourself to others. A reported asked Albert Einstein in a interview, “What is the purpose of life? Why are we here?” Einstein replied, “I am simply here to serve other men.” That is the purpose of life, to serve each other. Giving is simply human nature. For example, the little girl who takes pleasure in helping her mom set the table. This is who we are before we learn to fear the ridicule of others. Ego will make your purpose much more confusing, you want to do something cool that everyone will like, instead of what is needed. Earl Nightingale is a huge advocate for the fact that, our success can only be attained by our service to others and that our success will depend upon the success of the people around us. We need to be grateful, loving, ENTHUSIASTIC, and supportive human beings. Learn so you can teach, want for others what you want for yourself, and never stop giving. Keep you life simple, This is how you can HELP YOURSELF, SO YOU CAN HELP OTHERS. “The less you are, the more you receive.” -Jagadish Vasudev, a.k.a. Sadhguru.

Work joyfully

I talk a lot about getting what you want, dreaming big, and achieving goals. Improving our lives is awesome but is depicted as a dreadful process. “Work hard,” we’ve all heard that before, but the universe does not “work hard.” Everything beautiful in the universe happens effortlessly, the grass, the clouds, and even procreation. The universe does nothing and leaves nothing undone. Your life should be the same way: relaxed, focused, and free from stress and worry. You will get to where you are going either way so we might as well do it joyfully. Know that you are capable. Know that you can trust yourself and the circumstances around you. Sometimes the biggest part of life is letting things unfold; You do not actually have to DO anything. Let’s really enjoy our time here. You don’t need to take it so seriously. Trust me, add a sense of playfulness to your work routines. Work joyfully.

The Little Things

Our lives are not typically composed of major events. The little things we do daily add up into something much larger than expected . The little things like sitting up straight, choosing to smile when you wake up in the morning, or hugging a person in need, they may seem insignificant alone but are important when done consistently . These little things are huge factors in determining the direction of your life. If you ask someone whom you consider successful when they became successful they will tell you they don’t know the exact moment when it happened, they just know, now, that it happened. There is not usually these major events in life that go “BOOM, now I’m successful!” When we are consciously creating our lives they are a gradual realizations from little choices and good habits. Working out is not something you do 24 hours a day and now you are sexy and fit. Work out 20 minutes a day and you will become fit and sexy the rest of your life. When you tell your special someone you love them it seems to them insignificant by itself, tell them you love them every day for a year, now they are starting to get the picture. I think success is just a combination of time and choices. How we spend our time is the choice. Let’s spend our time doing something meaningful and beneficial to our lives. I think most people are sacrificing long term fulfillment for short term comfort and they live their lives daily searching for instant gratification (like caffeine, tv, or junk food.) but nothing beats having the life you’ve always wanted. The job, the health, the relationships, the skills ,the friends… these things develop over time and give one of the deepest senses of satisfaction one could ever experience, but it is the process and not the end result because as I’ve said before once you get there you will always want the next one the next one and the next one. Enjoying the process is the only thing that works! So all we can do is that, enjoy the progress and give greater importance to the little things. Because that’s all your situation in life right now is, an accumulation of all these little things.

Patterns

We all have these patterns our mind is habitually doing. Constantly reacting to the things, noticed or unnoticed. These patterns, or paradigms, are what shape our lives. Have you ever heard somebody say that they can tell where you will be in 50 years by what you are doing today? This is something we must think about. Is what you are doing today taking you in the direction you ultimately aim, are your mental patterns doing so as well, and if not when will they change? Are there any better patterns or habits you could develop? Are there any you should drop? Why do you do what you do? Is it for a healthy reason? Now, whatever you do is fine if it’s what you want to do but if what we do is out of pure unconscious habit there is a problem. If your life is not the way you want it is purely because of your habitual thinking and actions. It’s your life, you call the shots. Situations and events may be out of your control but it is how we respond to them that ultimately decides your destiny. How we respond to situations is a part of your paradigm. Change the way you think, change your life forever. How you think is the way you feel, and how you feel inside will ultimately determine everything that is outside. Create a beautiful pattern of thought for yourself. Make it a habit to help others. Make it a habit to smile. Make a joke out of everything. Always put out helpful intentions that help all people around you, including yourself. Happiness comes from progression and success truly does come from the journey and not the destination. Your paradigm is the journey, and progressive realizations that come from these patterns are what will take you to where you want to be.

Habitual Thinking

“We become what we think.” It is said people have been discovering this since mankind began and yet everyone of them thinks they were the first to discover it. With this information you could come to the conclusion of how a man should live his life: directing your thoughts in the most favorable direction of your choosing. The most valuable thing a person can do is think; in our down time we should always exercise and push our imaginations to new limits. “If you can imagine it you can become it.” Persuade your thoughts every chance you get. Consciously directing them is the most important thing a human can do because we all know what happens to people who don’t, they wind up in a place where they just really don’t want to be. A person’s overall success is directly determined by his ability to use his faculties, which are his mind, body, emotions and energies. If all four are not in correlation with each other, this creates a friction within you and you naturally become a hindrance to your life. Remember to think. Think in a direction of your choosing, believe it is possible and the body, emotion, and energies will naturally follow. It may seem hard at first but luckily thinking positive creates a snowball effect that makes it easier and easier with the passing of time. New ideas and fun experiences will naturally pop into your head and soon you will find yourself not worrying whether it will happen or not; it’s just pleasurable to think about. Make sure to have a good attitude and remember these three words: “Imagination is everything.”
