Stay Focused

Focus is, I would say, the most powerful tool a human can have. It is our job to make our attention as unwavering as possible. Where attention goes, energy flows. What we focus on is what we get. When you think of all the things you are grateful for, you will always get more things to be grateful for. Consciously placing your attention where you want is not always an easy thing. If you think about loving relationships you will get loving relationships, if you think about negative people you will get negative people. In this day and age we are bombarded with all sorts of distractions that are not meant to serve us. Television, music, and social media are mostly full of low vibrational things that are not meant to raise you up to your potential or give you a deep inner sense of satisfaction. These pleasures are only skin deep. If you go back to the saying: “We become what we think about.” Do you think media gives people good thoughts? I see loads of drugs, death, violence, and all sorts rubbish on 90% of television, while in most music it is the same thing. This is not meant to be an indictment of mainstream media; I am trying to elaborate on how big of a distraction mainstream media actually is. Place your attention on a brighter world and be careful what you surround yourself with. Keep on task. Do your own thing. Without focus, how will you ever get good at anything? How would you ever achieve anything? Never doubt yourself because fear is another distraction that people don’t see a such. If your attention is on possible failure, you are not focused. What may happen is none of our concern because nature will decide these things. Our job is just to strive for what we want, and keep our attention on that. Stay focused. “Nishchalatattve jeevanmukti.” (I don’t expect anyone reading this to know how to say this) This is an Indian saying that means “For one who is unwavering in his intentions, liberation cannot be denied.” Failure is impossible. All you have to do is focus.

  1. I only skimmed this one…did not focus. I think that focus can be a tough thing in a world that is constantly changing around us. To focus means to slow down and that can be a tough task depending on the life one leads. To focus means to care. I do care about your article but I did not focus on it the way I should due to time. Because people do not slow down and focus and care about what the focus is we miss out on a lot of things in life.

    1. Focusing has been tough for people since before society was they way it is; the world has always been busy even since we were monkeys, we just had different distractions. Yes, you can care about something you’re not focused because you have the focus on other things. Focus can have a momentum to it, so you are already focused on one thing it can be hard to change direction in the middle of what you are doing. Slowing down is essential. It makes you notice things you did not before.
